Your mother was a great human being on so many levels. It was an honor to grow up with her around. She was like a second mother. Put simply; she was the best of the best.

I became acquainted with Wilma when I became a NICU cuddler at Inova Fairfax Hospital. We used to compare notes at the annual volunteer banquet until she retired. I was delighted to see her again when she moved to Goodwin House Alexandria where I also volunteer. The NICU nurses we both knew sent messages to through me and she returned their affection. We are sorry to lose our long-time friend and send our sympathy to the family.

Your mom was one of those extraordinary women who supported her husband, held down the fort, raised a beautiful family, worked, and volunteered in whatever community she was in. She instilled a great work ethic in her daughters, as well as her grandchildren. A true role model whose life deserves to be celebrated!
May she rest in peace.

I met Wilma through the Embroiderer's Guild of America. We were on the board together. She always had a kind word for everyone. My sympathy to the family.

Wilma and I came to know each other through our membership in the Embroiderers Guild. She was a lovely, gracious woman who, in spite of the physical pain she endured following her accident, was always upbeat and enthusiastic and fun to be with. Wilma took great pleasure in talking about her beloved family who will miss her, I know. My condolences are with you.

I grew up in Ravenwood Park and my mother and Cindy Winter knew your mother well and always spoke of her. Cindy often mentioned you. Our thoughts are with you at this time.
