I was out of town when my dear former sixth grade teacher, and more importantly, friend passed, and I am just finding out now. I am so, so sorry, Kevin and Brian, and Jack and Sam, for your losses. She proudly and fondly spoke of "her boys" often as we kept in touch over the years, and I felt like I knew you all. Your mother made such a positive impact in my life, in all of her students' lives, you can be proud of her legacy. Again, accept my deepest condolences.

Having known Janice by reputation through her co-worker Jean Butler, while they served at Oakridge, I can remark on her devotion to task and the joyous energy she gave to teaching and working with children. In her latter days of teaching at Oakridge, the was entrusted with working with the bright and the gifted. That is a challenge which she treated with imagination and as opportunity. I know that in retirement, she became a buoyant grandmother. On occasion, I was in her company with evenings at the local symphony. It was a pleasure to be in her company. Glad that she was a part of my journey.

Janice and Dick were neighbors of mine in Sleepy Hollow were they resided for many years. Dick helped me with a legal problem after his retirement and I tried repeatedly to see Janice through the years. My deepest sympathy to all family members. It is with deep sorrow that we never could get together for lunch.
