Ruth B. Hinshaw, 90 wife of the late Lafawn Hinshaw and a resident of Annandale, Virginia died peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday March 7, 2017 at INOVA Women and Children Center, Fairfax Virginia. A native of West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Bland and the late Nettie Davis Bland. She retired from the Department of Defense at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. She was a member of Sleepy Hollow United Methodist Church in Falls Church, Virginia. She is survived by a Son, Kurt Hinshaw and Daughter in Law, Anna of Aylett, VA; Daughter, Laura Hinshaw of Annandale, VA; Grandchildren, Bryce and Tori Hinshaw of Aylett, VA and very special friend and adopted Daughter, Kathy Savel of Annandale, VA. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Bland of Maryland and was predeceased by three sisters, Joanne, Betty and Laura.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Everly Community Funeral Care, 6161 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, Virginia 22044. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Sleepy Hollow United Methodist Church, 3435 Sleepy Hollow Road, Falls Church, Virginia, 22044 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will in the Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the church.
