On Saturday, August 12, 2017, Edna Maxine Shockley passed away at Culpepper Regional Hospital following a short illness. Born on May 23, 1927 to the late Warrie and Edna Proffitt, she was predeceased by her beloved husband James M. Shockley, Sr. as well as her sister Martha Panneton and brothers, Wray, Wilbert & Walter Proffitt.
Surviving Edna are her loving children, James "Marc" Shockley, Jr. and spouse Liz Shockley and Melinda L. Shockley; her dear grandchildren, Robert Neal and spouse DeAnn Carter, Bryan Neal and spouse Yolanda Wilson-Neal, Julian Shockley, Jamie Shockley, Justin Shockley and spouse Jackie Shockley, Jessica Shockley McIntosh and spouse Joey McIntosh as well as her great-grandchildren, Tye, Ashley, Amber, Damani, Bryson, Tavon, Hailee, Mary and Austin and great-great-grandchild Devon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
