Ngoc Nancy Tran

On Sunday, February 14, 2021, Ngoc Nancy Tran, loving sister and aunt of eleven siblings, nine brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, eighteen nieces and nephews, and two grandnieces and a grandnephew, passed away at age 66.

Nancy was born on August 27, 1954 in Saigon, Vietnam to Hoa Tran and Diep Thi Lang. Nancy worked in the banquet department of the Renaissance hotel for 30 years. She was a role model employee who was highly respected by her employers and colleagues. She was a matriarch not only to her blood-related family, but to also her colleagues whom she considered as her extended family. Her colleagues referred to her as “Mama”.

The center of her universe was her family and extended family. Nancy had a passion for helping people regardless of who they were or where they came from. Her compassion, kindness, and care that she shared with those who were blessed by her love were immeasurable. Her heart was boundless and greater than the sum of all of us.  She was an avid music lover, a foodie and an excellent cook. She loved cooking and eating both Chinese and Vietnamese foods and some of her dishes were among the family’s favorite. Her beautiful smile was infectious and so was her kind and compassionate spirit.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Hoa, and her mother, Lang. She is survived by her ten siblings, Minh, Hue, Paul, Dieu, Tracey, Nhung, Vincent, Mai, Stephanie and Bruce, her nine brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, Van, Gary, Lynn, Trinh, Kam, Ty, Anh, Michael and Teri, her nieces and nephews, Ken, Judy, Tho, Angela, Donna, Ben, Kelly, Daniel, Janet, Kenny, Jeannie, Jennifer, Rachel, Sydney, Michelle, Ethan, Kyle and Cassidy, and her two grandnieces and a grandnephew, Chrysan, Bryce and Angelyse.
