Ellen Dorothy Beezy

Ellen D. Beezy, of Arlington, Virginia, born on October 21, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on September 20, 2018. Youngest of six children, she is survived by her twin sister Susan, brother-in-law Bernie, as well as nieces and nephews Bernard Dennis III (Megan), Michael Dennis, Karen Thompson, Lisa Sands (John), Lori Beezy, Ted Beezy, Rachel Haigh (Jed), and Julie Green (Lasse). She loved and was loved by the extended Dennis family.

Ellen graduated from California State University Northridge where she majored in Psychology. That qualified her for a job pumping gas on the lobster shift at the Mobil Station on Van Nuys Boulevard where she once danced with Guy Lombardo as she filled his tank. This led to her dream job as a nursing aide at the Motion Picture and Television Actors Home in Woodland Hills, California. There, she was struck more than once with a shillelagh by aging character actor Donald Crisp.

Thus star-struck, she decided to leave show business and move to Washington DC to work for the Internal Revenue Service. Her degree in Psychology was not wasted as she applied those skills for the next 25 years until retirement. She rose through the ranks, starting as a secretary and moving up to computer systems analyst.

Her experience at IRS allowed her to recognize and appreciate maladaptive behaviors. Hers included calculated derision of those she loved, vintage movies, true crime TV, jazz, cats, Millie the dog, and Kahlua the drink.

Services will be private and inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Falls Church, Virginia. The date and time are not yet determined.
