Demetris Peter Voudouris

November 5, 1961 ~ October 21, 2023 (age 61) 61 Years Old

Tribute

Demetris Voudouris, sadly passed away at the age of 61, on Saturday, October 21 due to complications from endocarditis. Demetris was born in Los Angeles, California to his Columbian mother, Gloria Armenteros, and his Greek father, Demetris Voudouris.

As a teen, he loved spending his time listening to music and reading books. As he got older, he attended The University of California San Diego to study Political Science and Economics. This would not be the end of his education.

He had a passion for helping people, so he spent two years in the Peace Corp in Gabon teaching mathematics to elementary school students. Following his time in Africa, he traveled to Greece to work at Eleftheros Typos, a family business, where he met the love of his life, Katerina Karipi. They got married in Athens before moving to America, so Demetris could pursue his passion for Law. He studied at George Washington University, receiving a Masters of Business Administration and Juris Doctor degree at the same time. Following this, he received his Masters in Tax Law (MT) at Georgetown University. This is just one of many things that showed the work ethic Demetris had. He became a Business Attorney, helping clients and creating everlasting relationships.

Within two years, Katerina and Demetris started a family, complete with Eleni and Stavros. Demetris was the most understanding and dependable father anyone could have asked for. He always put his family above everything else and his children saw that throughout their time with him. He always gave them sound advice and was an example of a truly genuine, honest, and loving person. He was a mentor to many, eager to help those around him realize their true potential. Demetris was never afraid to enjoy life to the fullest and one of the proudest moments in his life was seeing his daughter getting married last year to his second son, Eric who Demetris just adored.

Throughout his journey he discovered some new hobbies, Thai Chi, history, his book club, wine tastings, and religion. He always had a hunger for knowledge and was always looking for new opportunities to learn. He has been a member of St. Katherines Greek Orthodox Church since residing in northern Virginia.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family, close friends, and all of those who knew him.
