Deacon Mario Luis Mendoza

Deacon Mario Luis Mendoza, 86, passed away on November 21, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born in Cuba in November 30, 1934 to Carlos Mendoza and Aurora Castilla. He was ordained as Deacon in May 1987 and soon after began working with the Hispanic community at St. Anthony's. He was married to was Mercedes Mendoza. He has two children, Luis A. Mendoza and Mercedes Mendoza Rodriguez; 4 grandchildren: Gian Carlo Bustillo, Karina Bustillo, Daniel Mendoza, Andres Mendoza, Luis Gabriel Mendoza and Cristina Mendoza;  5 great grandchildren: Charlotte and Juliet Bustillo, Damian, Nicholas, Alivia and Ariyanna Mendoza. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3305 Glen Carlyn Rd, Falls Church, VA 22041 at 12PM on Saturday, November 27, 2021. A graveside service will follow at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Everly Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
