Surrounded by family, Catherine D. Ramos of Falls Church, VA, died on Monday, June 7, 2021, due to complications from a cranial hemorrhage.
Born January 1, 1949, Catherine was Prince William
County’s New Year’s Baby.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband,
Jesse Santiago of 15 years, her parents Kelly E. and Catherine L. Smith, and her beloved brothers, Kelly and Tim.
Catherine worked as a secretary for the Department of the Navy for several years before deciding to
become a homemaker and raiser her daughters. After some time, she decided to work for the Fairfax
County Public School system as a guidance
secretary for 26 years until her retirement in 2013.
Catherine was the happiest spending time with her
family. She absolutely loved being a “Nana”. She
enjoyed reading, horses, beaches, giving, laughing, and lifting people up when they were down.
Catherine is survived by her two daughters, Christy McFerren and her husband Chris of Chantilly, VA and Anna Leonard and her husband Chris of Falls Church, VA; two sisters, Rebecca Fesperman and her husband Brian of Culpeper, VA, and Wendy Long of Abingdon, VA; and four grandchildren: Cara, Parker, Carson and Dylan.
